A few helpful FAQs:
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that are easy to move in like sweats or leggings. Dress in layers, because your body temperature may change during practice. Practice is typically done barefoot, but if you want to wear socks, be sure they have grippy pads on the bottom to avoid slipping.
I’m too stiff/inflexible/out of shape for yoga!
Not so! Yoga is a great practice for folks who are stiff or not flexible. It will be necessary for you to get down to the floor and up off the floor unaided, but there will be modifications for postures, so come and try! Please consult your medical professional before you begin if you have questions!
EEP! I want to try, but I’ve never done yoga before!
Fantastic! Tell Pastor jess know this before your first class. Let’s have some fun!
What do I need to bring?
Your own yoga mat. A water bottle is a good idea, as well as a necktie or belt, and a spare body towel. If you’ve done yoga before and you want to bring props (ie. blocks, a belt) feel free, but this is not a requirement! Chairs are available for meditation.
I have an injury/illness/am pregnant.
Okay, please talk with Pastor jess about this so that she can offer you modifications that may be necessary for your health & safety.
